The past couple of months have been quite eventful and sometimes stressful. We went to the Nanga Folk Festival in October and the Dunsborough Songfest in November (singining with Working Voices Choir). At Nanga I found out that negotiating fairly steep and muddy gravel roads is a breeze in the Winnie, even at night. We camped at the caravan park in Dwelling up and commuted over by day, as we did two years ago. At the Songfest we discovered just how good the solar power system is for running the fridge all day. Yaxuan has had her third birthday, as yet we have no plans to visit China again, even though we imagine that we will go back.
I am feeling very negative about work, I’ve been offered 3 shifts since having a couple of weeks off around the Dunsborough Songfest, but have only worked once. I did a sleep shift in East Victoria Park, and despite having a good sleep there, was sleepy enough to go back to bed for a couple of hours after arriving home.
This week I am slowly working through a backlog of tasks that I finally have energy to tackle.
So, I have some photos from this time, taken on various cameras:
Dinner candles at Nanga Bush Camp. We booked in for evening meals to have fellowship with people at the camp. There were quite a few Working Voices folk there, plus we met up with David and Ruth.Stephen took this ‘family selfie’ on his iPhone a few weeks ago.Working Voices sang at the annual Harold Pedan lecture “all about Collie”. A very interesting talk and our music well received. It was Raelene’s first, she is finding her feet with our union links.After the Songfest we stayed in Dunsborough for the Supermoon on Monday evening. I settled for getting the atmosphere, rather than setting up with a long lens and correct exposure for the moon. What was striking was in watching the moonrise over the water how bright it was, especially as it got darker. Despite having some smoke obscuring the rising and some cloud coming in later.On the Tuesday we went to a ukelele group in Busselton with Stephen’s friend Richard and his partner Pat. We had mornin tea with them afterwards and discovered some common ground. Then we went to the jetty for some lunch, meeting up with another Winnebago Leisure Seeker owner who followed us into the carpark to catch up. Very interesting comparing notes. We shared some fish and chips. This meant we were late heading home and at about 5.30 p.m. we pulled into Myalup Beach where there is a small caravan park. Mostly residential, but we had a nice spot overlooking the park. There was a lookout a short and steep walk away, plus we went down to the beach. The ‘home’ to cook tea and have an early night.
There you go, both of us trying to work out how to use this again…all seems changed since I used it a while ago… suppose it is safe to let everyone know I am away!!

I think it’s OK. No one knows what we have arranged at home when we are away, for example house exchange or dog sitting. Plus it is interesting for friends to read your blog of the trip.
