Wirrulla to Kimba Monday 1st April, 2019
A fairly normal day of travelling through dry farmland and bushland. We stopped at a small town on the way and spent time walking around the outdoor museum. We have been to this place before. We had fruit in the morning but I didn’t feel like breakfast, so at this stop had a wheatbix sitting at a picnic table.

We had a beautiful morning, clear skies for the first time in a few days, the air crisp and cool. I bought a coffee from the little General Store across from where we stayed last night. As caravans moved off I suggested to Stephen that we move and plug into an electricity for a little whilst, but he couldn’t be bothered, so we didn’t.
We left at a little after 10.00 a.m., glad to not have a deadline as you do in caravan parks, but still wanting to get on the road.
At Kimba we have a choice of three places where there is free camping. Wikicamps is slightly out of date here, it only lists two. In the end, we decided on the recreation centre where we have stayed before. There is a shower here, $1.00 for 2 minutes, plus it is close to the beginning of a guided walk. We went out at about 6.15, having waited for the sun to be lower in the sky. It was pretty warm when we arrived here, but the temperature is now dropping and we should have a ‘snuggle under the doona’ night.

The banner photo shows Stephen standing under an arch. It might be clearer from this version.
We didn’t see any real animals, only these ones made of metal.
It’s a little noisy here tonight, just people socialising, but it will hopefully be quiet later. At least we are not in the section where people are using generators.

Good to see all going as planned… presume it’s ok to share your blog with the Memoir group which meets today.
Travel safely into Canberra…xx
